Drinking is Healthy, Science Says So

We know this may come as no surprise, but here at The Rail we love beer. We work hard to bring you the best quality brews around, serving draft beers only brewed in the state of Ohio. So, because we love beer and we appreciate all of you, we wanted to pass along some really great health news. Researchers say beer and wine are good for you!

A new study performed in California, released this year, shows moderate drinking leads to a longer life. Yes, you read that correctly. Researchers found that drinking nearly two glasses of wine or beer a day was linked to an 18% drop in a person’s risk of early death.

We've heard this argument before when studies found that moderate drinking was associated with a lower risk of death for people with mild Alzheimer's as well. Of course, there are the other studies that also show drinking can have a negative impact over a long period of time.

The point we’re trying to make here - research definitely shows that drinking in moderation is fine. As they say, a glass or two a day keeps the doctor away... That’s the saying, right?
