Since 2011 the craft brewery industry has exploded in the Buckeye State. There are nearly 300 breweries throughout Ohio, up from 45 in 2011. So with the abundance of choices, we’re here to make things easy for you. Each quarter The Rail features top-notch breweries with some really tasty beers, and this time we’re partnering with Canton-based Royal Docks Brewing Company!
The founders, Canton natives, first launched the brewery in 2015 after living in Britain for a couple of years. Even though their time across the pond was short-lived, they fell in love with the beer and food scene, especially the pub culture. So they made their dreams a reality and opened their own pub, right in the heart of Canton.
The owners say they don’t hope to become a national chain, a regional 6-pack phenomenon or even a hidden treasure. They just want to celebrate making good beer while providing and fostering a comfortable place to share it with friends and family.
The inspiration for their forward-thinking beers, of course, comes from brewing traditions in England plus a mix of ideas from their friends in the craft beer industry. Royal Docks brews everything from IPAs to stouts to pilsners. During our partnership with Royal Docks, we’ll feature four fantastic beers at each of our Rail locations.
