Thanks For Helping Us Give Back

In November we asked you, our guests, to help us feed those in need in our community. Throughout the month, we partnered with our local food banks to raise money and help provide meals and groceries to families in our state.

We teamed up with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, The Greater Cleveland Food Bank and the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to make all of this possible. We vowed to give $2 to those local food banks for every ‘Giving Back Burger’ sold in our restaurants throughout the month.

Now we want to say, "thank you!"

With your help, The Rail was able to donate $3,246.07, which will help provide roughly 13,000 meals in our community! Thanks to your generous donations and purchases during the month of November, more families across Ohio are going to have food security.

Diana, a server from The Rail - Akron, said talking to her guests about The Giving Back Burger and The Rail’s mission to help feed the hungry was easy because she and her husband spend a lot of their personal life fundraising and giving back.

“It's part of who we are,” she said.

Diana said she enjoyed telling guests that one Giving Back Burger would provide eight meals to someone in need. She shared, “You're going to get food anyways, you might as well help someone else while you're at it.”

Our sister restaurant located in downtown Wooster, The City Square Steakhouse, also spent the month of November working to raise money for children in the Wooster area. The award-winning steakhouse continued their partnership with The Boys and Girls Club of Wooster for yet another year.

With your help, the City Square Steakhouse proudly donated $18,228.15, including $5,000 in matching funds from Freeman Building Systems, to the club.

“What an honor to get to help others in our wonderful community by simply just doing my job,” Tayler, a server at The City Square Steakhouse, said reflecting on the fundraiser.
